Benedek Tinusz studied the available literature consisting of 692 articles on the effect of short- versus long-course antibiotic therapy on acute cholangitis. They concluded that short course of antibiotic therapy is non-inferior to long-course treatment. However there are certain limitations which call for the need of a well designed trial.
