Tracking COVID-19 Acute, Persisting Effects on the Right Ventricle

A series of studies was conducted to determine the long lasting effects of  respiratory distress and myocarditis that is common in patients hospitalized with COVID-19.  31% of more than 100 such patients with a clinical indication for echocardiography were found to have right ventricle dilation and it did independently predict more than a fourfold increase in in-hospital mortality.
